Culture[Active]

Culture[Active] is located in Ulyanovsk, Russia. The program is all about creativity, art, culture, and social change. The program line “Club Network” is directed toward teenagers from small towns in the region of Ulyanovsk. The program supports them in creating a club in their hometowns where young people can meet and be creative. These clubs have developed, and continued to develop, into small local centers for cultural and social change.

The program line “Culture[Active] Workshop” works with young adults from the city of Ulyanovsk. Throughout a series of seminars, they develop and implement cultural projects, such as art installations, open-air concerts, or workshops for active citizens. Through these projects, they aim to change the living quality and mindset of the people of Ulyanovsk. By keeping their alumni close, Culture[Active] have managed to create a network of engaged, creative citizens who constantly bring a positive influence to public life in Ulyanovsk.

The program is implemented by Youth Initiative Center Ulyanovsk and supported by Presidential Grants Foundation of the Russian Federation, Municipality of Ulyanovsk Region, the German Federal Foreign Office, and the Robert Bosch Foundation.
