RuhrstadtTRÄUMER

RuhrstadtTRÄUMER aims to strengthen civil engagement of young people in the area of Ruhrgebiet in Germany. During a three (mid-July to mid-October) month period, youngsters are accompanied in realising their first own civil initiative as volunteers.

The projects address social problems, which are relevant for the local and private situation of the participant. In two one-week seminar camps and two seminar weekends, the participants get to know their strengths and weaknesses, create project ideas in teams and gain project management skills that will help them implementing their ideas. During the implementation period between summer and fall camp, peer-mentors, who primarily are program participants from previous years, will accompany each team and offer guidance.

The end of the program is marked by the evaluation seminar, which gives space for a common presentations of the projects, possibilities for exchange and a deep evaluation of the learnings during the project implementation.”
